Devon and Cornwall day 16 - St Ives

It was showery rain this morning. We left Amber in the campervan and walked to Godolphin house, a National Trust property about 2 miles away. We had a look round the house and gardens.

We walked back to the site for lunch, then drove to St Ives. The car park we were aiming for meant we had to drive through busy, narrow streets which wasn't a great idea. Eventually we found a space near the Tate St Ives. We had a walk round the town, beaches and harbour.

We had a cream tea there - pretty much the same as a Devon cream tea really. Then we walked round The Island (a peninsula) and back to Porthmeor beach where the van was.

We then drove to Godrevy Point so Amber could get a walk, and looked at the lighthouse there.

We wanted to get a meal at the Red River pub but all the tables were booked, so we had a pint and went for fish and chips in Camborne.

We got back to the site just before the rain started, and managed to take the awning down dry.
