We left Dunblane in the car before 10am, and drove south. We stopped at Tebay services on the M6 for lunch and a short walk with Oscar, then carried on. We did our shopping at Tesco near Llandudno and got some petrol there too.
Further down into Wales it became rather wet, and visibility wasn't great when we were driving down the coast.
We arrived at the cottage in Llanbedr about 5pm, and were first there. It's called Angorfa, and we've rented it from Sykes Cottages. It's a 4 bedroom with two bathrooms, a lounge on the first floor and a big dining room and very well equipped kitchen on the ground floor.
These photos are from the Sykes website.
Barry and Tamsin are the only others who arrived today, by car from Bristol. We hadn't planned what we were going to have for dinner, so they went to the local shop and picked up some frozen takeaway fish, chips and mushy peas for all of us, which was pretty basic but fine.
In the evening Shirley did some pre-preparing of the food we're going to serve to everyone on Thursday.
We tried to play a board game that Tamsin had brought - "Backpacks and Blisters". After a half-hearted attempt at understanding the rules I'm afraid its complexity was beyond us, so we gave up!
