Today we caught the bus west along the coast to Creetown, then walked back by an inland route. The first part of the route was on a quiet road and climbed over a hill. Although it was sunny we were walking into an easterly wind and it was quite chilly.
Eventually we turned off the road onto a lovely track which was sheltered and the walk became much more pleasant.
We came to an old churchyard and had our lunch in the sunshine there.
As we got nearer to town we took a detour up to the top of a hill where there is the Rutherford Monument, with great views all around.
Back in Gatehouse of Fleet we bought an ice cream and sat in the sunshine.
Later for dinner we had salmon with potatoes, peas and sweetcorn.
