We left the house in the morning and drove south, stopping at Kirknewton in Northumberland for a walk.
It went up the College Burn, we stopped for lunch at the point where the path crossed at a bridge.
We then went across tracks to a hill called Yeavering Bell, which means hill of the goats. It's well named because we saw lots of the Cheviot wild goats there.
Back at Kirknewton we had a look in the church and churchyard.
We then drove on to the youth hostel at Wooler where we were staying. We had an en suite twin room, though it was fairly narrow bunk beds.
We made pasta with vegetables for dinner in the communal kitchen and common room.
Later we walked into town and went for a pint in the Black Bull Inn.
