We left the car park and drove into Melrose, parking in the town centre car park. We then went on a circular walk, first up through the forestry to Cauldshiels Loch.
We saw a deer. The loch was very full and had flooded the path round the edge. We managed to get round it though.
The route then worked its way down to the River Tweed via Abbotsford House.
It was then a few miles along the Tweed back to Melrose.
We had an ice cream and a walk round the orchard at Priorwood Garden.
We drove to the camp site at Thirlstane Castle just outside Lauder and booked in for two nights.
For dinner we had sweet potato and spinach curry.
