Andalucia Day 2 - Malaga

We intended to go to the Malaga market first thing, but it was a public holiday today so it was closed. Instead we went for breakfast at Cafe Arandas - churros and chocolate.

After breakfast we walked through the town to the Roman theatre.

We then visited the Alcazaba and its grounds.

From there we walked up the steep path to the Gibralfaro castle, where we walked round the castle walls and took in the great views.

We then went down into the east part of the city and had a drink at La Odisea wine bar. After this we had a walk in the park while waiting for the number 11 bus along the coast to El Palo.

At El Palo we had a walk along the beach and looked at the many grilled fish restaurants - "chiringuitos".

At one of them we had lunch, grilled sardines and fried rosada fish. We then caught the bus back into town and had a drink at the famous Malaga wine place Bodega Antigua Casa de Guardia.

We then went back to the hotel for a rest.

In the  evening we went out into town. The first place we went to for a drink was El Pimpi, followed by dinner at Cortijo de Pepe in Merced Square, including some Iberico pork.

We walked back to the hotel, and came across a bar called Shakespeare, where we had to in for a drink. They were doing a pub quiz. Then back to bed at the hotel.
