We left the hotel and caught a tram back out to the airport, where we picked up our hired car, a blue Peugeot 108 from Budget.
We then drove along the coast to Antibes and parked in a car park at the port. We had a wander around the port first.
We then went into Antibes old town, where we came upon the market.
After a little more walking we bought some French bread and Camembert cheese and sat on a bench to eat it. We then slowly made our way back to the car.
We were planning to go for a walk at Cap d'Antibes, but everywhere we drove had no car parking places and was massively busy, so we retreated and headed for the hills.
We drove about an hour and a half to the village of Isola, where we had a stroll around and a drink at a bar.
Then the final leg was to Isola 2000, which is mainly a winter ski resort but has some accommodation and facilities open all the year round. It gets its name from the fact it's 2000m above sea level.
We went to the supermarket for some provisions, then checked into our accommodation, the RĂ©sidence Club MMV. One thing we weren't aware of was that towels weren't included and were an extra 8 euros each. The room is self catering and has mostly what we need, though the oven is only a combi/microwave.
The view from the balcony is pretty good.
We stayed in in the evening and had pizza for dinner.
