The walking book we had brought with us had a walk starting in Paleokastritsa, and visiting Lakones and some other villages.
We had a bit of trouble finding the right path, but were happy we were going in the right general direction. The higher up the hill we went, the better the views back down became.
At Lakones we found Kostas' cafe and had coffee and a delicious honey cake. Kostas' parents were very welcoming though they couldn't speak much English. Yassas and efharisto were appreciated I think.
Then we carried on up the hill and took in Vistonas, Makrades and Krini, before arriving back at the other end of Lakones at the appropriately named Bella Vista restaurant.
After a rest back at the apartment we got ready to go out for dinner. We decided to drive to Pelekas which is a village on a hill half-way down the island. The top of the hill has a viewpoint called Kaiser's Throne.
Dinner was at a restaurant in Pelekas called Jimmy's which was recommended in the guidebook and was very good. Just above us under the veranda roof was a swallow's nest - the mother kept flying in and out feeding the chicks.
