Glenmore - Day 1

The weather forecast for the weekend was looking pretty good so we booked a couple of nights at Glenmore campsite. We left the house just before 10.

On the way we stopped at Craigellachie Nature Reserve just outside Aviemore to give Oscar a walk.

We had our lunch in the van then headed to Glenmore campsite near Loch Morlich. We checked in and then set up on our non-electric pitch which cost £33 per night.

We set off for a walk round the loch, first going along the highest beach in the UK.

Then we went up through the forest on the other side of the loch. There was some evidence of beaver activity.

The weather was reasonable today, a little rain but a lot of sunshine too. After about 3 hours we got back to the campsite, and noticed that there was a fish and chip van parked just outside the facilities block. We investigated and found out that it was indeed going to be open in the evening, so that made our decision for dinner very easy.

We actually ordered online and picked up from the van at 6.45. We both got large portions of haddock and chips, which was delicious and too much to eat.
