Llangollen

Today was Shirley's birthday, so to celebrate we went for a 10k run along the canal! First to Horshoe falls, then along in the other direction for a bit, before going back to the campervan for showers and breakfast.

We then went with Amber for a  walk, first going up the hill behind the camp site to Dinas Bran castle.

Then downhill and up again to the path above the Limestone Edges. The path here is part of the Offa's Dyke long distance trail.

From here there are good view across back to the castle.

The weather was quite nice, mainly sunny but not hot.

We got back to the campervan and dropped off Amber before going for a stroll along the canal again into Llangollen.

We (just) managed to see a steam train setting off from Llangollen station.

This time we had a pint at the Bull Inn, then went to get ready for dinner.

Later on the way into town we had a pint at the Bridge End Hotel. Dinner was at the Corn Mill.

Shirley had lamb shoulder which was lovely and tender, Scott had a double pork burger with all the trimmings.

Then sticky toffee pudding and bread and butter pudding, with a 16 year old Lagavulin to finish.

Llangollen

We left home about 10 and headed south, stopping at Westmorland Tebay service station on M6 for lunch and a short walk.

We arrived at the site in Tower Farm in Llangollen about 4. We set up the campervan and put the awning up - the ground was pretty hard and we were glad we had brought the rock pegs.

We walked into town along the canal, about 15 minutes away and had a pint in the Ponsonby Arms. After this we walked into the main shopping streets, checking out restaurants for the following evening. After another pint in the Wynnstay Arms we walked back to the campervan

We had chilli and rice for dinner and stayed in.
