Lost Valley

We went for a walk round the campsite this morning, it really is in a lovely setting.

Then we took down the tent and drove to the car park on the A82 at the start of the walk to the Lost Valley. Weather is still fantastic, warm and sunny.

The walk starts downwards to cross the river, then steeply upwards. At times it's a bit of a scramble, just about on the limit of what Amber can manage. Very beautiful though.

After about an hour we reached the Lost Valley, which is quite a surreal flat-bottomed valley hidden from view.

We had lunch there, and sunbathed for a bit.

After descending we drove back to Glencoe village for an ice cream, then headed home.

Stopped for a pint at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel, then stopped at Sainsburys in Linlithgow to do some shopping. Saw Grant there!

Benvane and Glencoe

Going camping in Glencoe tonight. On the way we stop just south of Balquidder to climb Benvane in the Trossachs.

We were blessed with amazing weather (for Scotland), hot, sunny, very little wind. We parked near Ballimore farm, and start walking along the bottom of the hill.

Then we start to climb up to the south, and after a stiff climb reach the long summit ridge.

After reaching the summit we stop to bathe in the sunshine.

After descending we then continued driving north, stopping at Tyndrum for a pint. Then on to Glencoe and the Red Squirrel campsite.

We put up the tent then walked the half mile or so to the Clachaig Inn for dinner. This was extremely busy, being a very warm June Saturday evening. We had venison casserole and venison burger - thanks Bambi!
